Bernera Boys & Girls Football
The Bernera Zone Boys and Girls Football Championships were held at Marconi on Wednesday, 15th May 2026, with schools from across the zone competing in an exciting and highly competitive day of football. Students demonstrated exceptional teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill throughout the tournament, representing their schools with pride and determination.
The use of Marconi’s two synthetic pitches ensured the day ran smoothly, providing excellent playing conditions and allowing all matches to continue efficiently throughout the event.
In the Girls competition, Cecil Hills High School were crowned champions, finishing ahead of Ashcroft High School in second place and John Edmondson High School in third position. In the Boys competition, Cecil Hills High School also claimed the championship title, with Hoxton Park High School finishing runners-up and John Edmondson High School securing third place.
Overall, the championships were a tremendous success, showcasing the depth of football talent across the Bernera Zone. Students competed with enthusiasm and respect, contributing to a positive and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the day.
