Trials & Selections

Trialling for a Bernera Zone team is the first step towards representing Sydney South West, NSW CHS and NSW All Schools. Here’s exactly how it works, who can nominate, and what to bring.

How Trials Work – To trial for a Bernera Zone team you must be enrolled at a Bernera Zone member school, be within the age group for the year of competition, and have a completed consent form.

Upcoming Trials – No trials are open right now. Trials are announced at the start of each term. Check back, or ask your school’s sport organiser what’s coming up.

Nominations & Consent Forms – Your parent or carer completes the current-year consent form. No form, no trial.

Selection Criteria – Selection is based on your performance at the trial, your demonstrated skill and game sense, your attitude and coachability, and — where relevant — verified times, distances or results. Selectors’ decisions are final at the point of announcement.

Representative Pathways – Each level is a separate selection. Being picked for a Bernera Zone team doesn’t guarantee Sydney South West selection — but you can’t reach Sydney South West without it.
